The Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople (Greek: Οἰκουμενικός Πατριάρχης, romanized: Oikoumenikós Patriárchēs) is the archbishop of Constantinople and primus inter pares (first among equals) among the heads of the several autocephalous churches that comprise the Eastern Orthodox Church.

The following is a chronological list of bishops and ecumenical patriarchs of Constantinople. The first 25 bishops are probably not historical figures, and the foundation of the See by Andrew the Apostle is almost certainly a later tradition.

Bartholomew (Greek: Βαρθολομαῖος, romanized: Bartholomaĩos; born 29 February 1940) is the current Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople since on 2 November 1991. [1]
