Sep 25, 2024 · Carlsbad Caverns National Park is located in the Chihuahuan Desert in southeast New Mexico. Summers are hot with temperatures from 90ºF to the low 100sºF (32ºC to about 40ºC). On hot days, please use caution.

May 25, 2024 · The program takes place at the Bat Flight Amphitheater, located at the Natural Entrance to Carlsbad Cavern. The start time for the program changes as the summer progresses and sunset times change.

Camping at Carlsbad Caverns National Park is permitted only in the backcountry. All backcountry users are required to obtain a free backcountry use permit at the visitor center on the day of arrival (no advanced reservations issued).

Dec 27, 2024 · Explore Carlsbad Cavern at your own pace on these two trails. Access is available by elevator or hiking and requires an entrance ticket. Notice: All visitors who enter the cavern are required to walk on bio-cleaning mats after exiting.
