The Chief of the General Staff (Ukrainian: Начальник Генерального штабу, romanized: Nachalnyk Heneralnoho shtabu) is the head of the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the military staff of the Forces.

The General Staff is headed by the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, whose appointment and dismissal are executed by the President of Ukraine upon the proposal of the Minister of Defense of Ukraine.

The current Chief of the General Staff is Anatoliy Barhylevych, [1] and the Commander-in-Chief is Oleksandr Syrskyi. The General Staff was created in 1991–92 on the basis of the Kyiv Military District headquarters of the former Soviet Armed Forces. As of May 2024: [10]
