That said, a common issue from the Shanghai built factory is that the speaker bar on the dash can look warped and if that’s the case, you can ask to get that fixed or reject the car and accept a different one.

Labor cost definitely helps with margins, but I don't think that's a limiting factor to keep Tesla's other auto factories from eventually meeting or exceeding Shanghai's output. Giga Berlin and Giga Texas are still relatively early in the ramp, with Giga Shanghai having a 27 and 28 month production start lead, respectively.

Jul 27, 2023 · I'm in the UK received Shanghai built M3 in 2021. Not a single issue. Was afraid after reading all the alignment panel issues but I think most of them are isolated to freemont built cars. I read Tesla is sending a big team of Chinese engineers to Texas and Freemont to teach American team how to build better cars.

Jun 3, 2023 · Take into account, that vehicles are region locked, and cannot be changed (well, I guess someone could do it, Tesla won't do it). So if you buy a vehicle from Shanghai, make sure it's for the international market. Local vehicles have several differences.
