A brush fire broke out in a park on the northern tip of Manhattan, sending smoke billowing across New York City.

The fire, in Inwood Hill Park at the northern tip of Manhattan, followed brush fires that burned in Brooklyn, the Bronx and New Jersey over the past week.

The Jennings Creek wildfire is still burning as of Monday morning, according to officials. The wildfire has burned 5,000 acres, spanning from New Jersey to New York and is only 20% contained, according to Bryan Gallagher,

The fire, the latest of several in the region over the weekend, had caused one death and was not contained as of Sunday afternoon, officials said.
