The vehicle hit a crowd outside a club on Santa Monica Boulevard early Saturday, apparently on purpose, police said.

A vehicle rammed into a crowd of people waiting to enter a nightclub along a busy boulevard in Los Angeles early Saturday, injuring 30 people and leading bystanders to attack the driver, authorities said.

The driver, who had been fighting with people inside a music venue, was shot after driving into a group of people on the sidewalk, the LAPD said.
