The US Open will become the first major to offer exemptions to LIV Golf players, introducing new qualification criteria for them to compete in the championship, the USGA announced on Wednesday.

LIV Golf players will have their own exemption category for the Open Championship starting with the 2025 edition. This was announced by the R&A, the governing body that organizes the current fourth major of the season, one of the most important tournaments in the world golf calendar.
