Less than a week after a mass shooting shook the campus of Tuskegee University, leaving one dead and 16 others injured, university officials are announcing major security upgrades.Tuskegee University President Mark A.

The shooting came as Tuskegee’s 100th Homecoming Week was winding down. Its football team has that Saturday played Fairfield-based HBCU Miles College. It is not clear yet what led to the shooting, which sent a large crowd scrambling and was captured on several videos posted on social media.

"Students are our greatest asset, and we will do everything possible to protect them," the university's president said.
