Tottenham Hotspur are closing in on sealing the appointment of Thomas Frank as the club’s new head coach. Brentford will insist that Frank’s release fee, thought to be in the region of £10 million, is met by Spurs but Telegraph Sport understands that progress has been made over the past 24 hours.

Jack Grealish, who has been tipped to leave Manchester City, is also said to be a target for several clubs. If a loan move can be engineered, he would be a low-risk and potentially high-reward option to play off Dominic Solanke up top.
