After cutting its debt during restructuring, Spirit has tried to attract bookings by marketing more upscale products and looking for new ways to cut costs.

Spirit Airlines on Monday warned investors and passengers that it may no longer be in business in a year even after a successful bankruptcy restructuring and recent attempts to generate new sources of revenue.

The budget airline, headquartered in Broward County, blamed reduced demand for domestic airfare on its inability to meet debt obligations spelled out in its recent bankruptcy settlement.
