TAMPA — The Rays' first game of the spring wasn’t very good. Their 4-0 loss to the Yankees included three errors (two by shortstop Coco Montes, a USF product) and a couple other misplays, seven walks by their pitchers, an out on the bases and a lack of hitting with runners in scoring position, which has been a major point of emphasis in camp.

The first full week of the 2025 MLB Spring Training season is underway for the Tampa Bay Rays at Charlotte Sports Park in Port Charlotte.

After their spring training at Charlotte Sports Park, the Rays will move into 11,000-seat Steinbrenner Field on March 28 for the MLB regular season.
