The Hoboken PATH station will reopen on time at 5 a.m. Tuesday after a massive rehabilitation project that closed the facility for 26 days, Port Authority of New York and New Jersey officials said.

Barring any last-minute snags, thousands of commuters will flow back down Hoboken PATH stairs, including some new ones too, starting Tuesday.

After a week of blustery wind and bitter cold, the parkas can finally get a rest. Temperatures are climbing into the 50s for the first time this month and staying there for several days. It may not be the start of spring,
