Longtime NBA superstar Carmelo Anthony has reportedly been chosen as a member of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame's class of 2025. According to ESPN's Shams Charania, Melo was informed Wednesday that he was elected to the Hall of Fame on the first ballot.

Carmelo Anthony will be adding first-ballot Hall of Famer to his list of accolades. Anthony has reportedly been notified that he's been elected to the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame as part of the Class of 2025, per ESPN's Shams Charania.

The basketball world figured Carmelo Anthony would not have to wait long to add his name to the list of the game’s immortals. Confirmation came Wednesday when ESPN’s NBA insider Shams Charania revealed that the 10-time NBA All-Star has been notified he’s been elected into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame as part of the Class of 2025.

Anthony was unable to find a team until the Blazers signed him to a free agent contract in November of 2019. Anthony played 127 games for the Blazers over two seasons, averaging 14.3 points in 28.3 minutes per game.

Knicks fans have repaired whatever blisters might have formed, invariably giving Anthony loud ovations when he returns to the Garden.

Anthony, a six-time All-NBA selection and 2003 All-Rookie Team selection, gets into illustrious company after 19 NBA seasons in which he averaged 22.5 points and 6.2 rebounds per game.

The Portland Trail Blazers have had a lot of really good players over their franchise history. Players like Bill Walton, Clyde Drexler, and Scottie Pippen have all made the Hall of Fame after playing for the franchise.
