DC Studios boss James Gunn said that it was "very unlikely" (via Variety) and "certainly not the plan" (via Collider) that Robert Pattinson would play Batman in upcoming The Brave and the Bold. But, "I wouldn’t rule anything out," Gunn added. "He could show up in something else. But the actor doesn’t exist [yet]."

Gunn said he's bringing key lessons in franchise building from his time at Marvel to DC Studios, with a strong focus on script quality over release dates and building a connected universe that still allows for standalone stories.

Looks like James Gunn thought people were getting a little too brave and bold with their The Brave and the Bold theories. Speculation and/or manifestation that The Batman star Robert Pattinson would also play Batman in the wider DC Universe has only increased since The Batman director Matt Reeves gave a noncommittal answer about the possibility in a January interview at the Golden Globes.
