Center Anthony Davis was officially introduced as a member of the Dallas Mavericks on Friday. After a superstar swap with the Los Angeles Lakers that sent guard Luka Doncic to Los Angeles, Davis steps in to join guard Kyrie Irving and the rest of the 2024 Western Conference champions as they look to make another run through the postseason.

After dealing Luka Doncic, Maxi Kleber and Markieff Morris to the Los Angeles Lakers during a road trip that lasted more than a week, the Mavericks were back to officially introduce Anthony Davis and Max Christie — as well as Caleb Martin, who was acquired in a separate deal before the trade deadline — to local media in downtown Dallas on Friday.

Davis and Christie were picked up last weekend as part of the trade that sent fan favorite Luka Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers. The Mavs also sent Maxi Kleber and Markieff Morris to the Lakers and will receive a first-round draft pick in 2025. Martin was picked up in a trade with the 76ers for Quentin Grimes and a 2nd round draft pick in 2025.
