The European Union has fined Apple and Meta a combined €700 million ($797 million) in the first enforcement of its landmark digital competition law.

European Union antitrust regulators on Wednesday fined Apple AAPL.O 500 million euros ($570 million) and Meta 200 million euros to make the companies comply with the Digital Markets Act, which seeks to allow smaller rivals into markets dominated by the biggest companies.
