Tesla is making moves as the world descends into trade war turmoil. For starters, Tesla buyers in China won’t be able to get their hands on the Model S and Model X. Across the planet, however, Tesla is launching new operations in Saudi Arabia as relations improve.

The pause on orders is directed at Tesla's Model X and Model S, which are are U.S.-made and imported to China.

Tesla has stopped taking orders for its Model S and Model X flagship electric vehicles in China – seemingly in reaction to new tariffs. In China, Tesla produces Model 3 and Model Y vehicles locally at Gigafactory Shanghai for the domestic market and some exports.
