Lawmakers dug into details of the film tax credit bill on Thursday, with film studio executives from Warner Bros. Discovery and Sony answering questions in Carson City.

Nevada lawmakers got their first look at a proposed tax deal meant to draw film production studios to Las Vegas. Assembly Bill 238 would allocate $120 million in tax credits to movie studios and affiliated businesses over 15 years.

A proposal to expand the state’s film tax credit program to bring Hollywood studios to Southern Nevada will have its first public hearing Thursday afternoon. Assembly Bill 238 would encourage a film studio to develop a campus of stages and ancillary production services in Las Vegas by offering transferable production tax credits to a studio that builds out that infrastructure.
