Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey commuted the death sentence of Robin “Rocky” Myers to life in prison Friday, saying there were enough questions about his guilt that she could not move forward with his execution.

Brad Sigmon, a convicted murderer, was executed by firing squad in South Carolina, and used his last words to call for the abolition of the death penalty.

Wood's conviction of the murders of six women and girls in El Paso, Texas in 1987 was largely based on circumstantial evidence. He's set for execution March 13.
