Joe Biden pardoned his siblings and their spouses on his way out of the White House, saying Monday that his family had been “subjected to unrelenting attacks and threats, motivated solely by a desire to hurt me — the worst kind of partisan politics.

U.S. President Joe Biden on Monday pardoned five members of his family, saying he wanted to prevent them from being targeted by "baseless and politically motivated investigations." Those pardoned are his two brothers James and Francis.

Biden announced the pardons in a last batch of clemency decisions just before Donald Trump took the oath of office.
