A 20-year-old Maryland woman who spray-painted "Gaza" on a statue in Washington, DC in July now faces a federal charge, according to prosecutors.

A woman officials said was caught on video using red spray paint to write "Gaza" on the Columbus Fountain outside Union station was charged.

According to images published on X, formerly Twitter, the base of the statue was spray-painted with the slogan “Free Gaza”, while the girl’s hands were painted with the same blood-red colour.
