The closure in downtown Dallas is not tied to the recent acquisition by Saks Global, according to an internal memo sent Feb. 18 to employees by Saks Global Operating Group CEO Marc Metrick acquired by the Morning News. Metrick in the memo blamed the closure on an inability to reach an agreement with the building's landlord.

When the original, flagship Neiman Marcus closes in downtown Dallas, as The Dallas Morning News’ Brian Womack reported today, its 71-year-old restaurant The Zodiac will also close. The store and restaurant are expected to shutter on March 31,

The news comes less than a year after Neiman Marcus’ merger with Saks Fifth Avenue and shortly after the announcement of the closing of their CityPlace offices.
