Bruton Parish Church officials recently hung a new plaque explaining an existing Civil War-era tablet that honors dead Confederate soldiers from the 1862 Battle of Williamsburg.

“Bruton Parish has much to celebrate, and much to come to terms with, in its rich 350-year history,” said the Rev. Chris Epperson, Bruton Parish’s rector.
