At long last, Alex Bregman has come off the board and is no longer a free agent. The long-time Houston Astros cornerstone is heading to the Boston Red Sox, where he easily represents the club’s biggest signing of the offseason.

Alex Bregman hit a two-run homer as part of a three-hit day in his spring training debut with the Boston Red Sox, launching a drive over the left-field wall in the second inning against the Toronto Blue Jays.

When Rafael Devers signed an 11-year extension with the Red Sox in 2023, he believed it came with the understanding he would be the team’s third baseman for the long term. Just two years into that deal, the Red Sox now have a better defensive third baseman on the roster in the newly signed Alex Bregman.
