Ballot Measure 2, the effort to repeal Alaska’s ranked choice voting and open primaries, was winning slightly as election results continued to come in early Wednesday, with about 97% of Alaska precincts counted.

This measure would eliminate the top-four primary system and ranked-choice voting in general elections.

Alaska and Maine already use ranked-choice voting, which supporters say could lead to more moderate politics. But it has been rejected in Colorado, Idaho, Nevada and Oregon.
