Abu Dhabi will host the final four of the EuroLeague basketball's 2024-25 season in May, the continental competition said on Tuesday. Spanish outlet El Pais reported that Abu Dhabi paid $25 million to outbid other contenders and secure the rights to host the culmination of the competition's 25th season.

This arrangement strategically combines the new market of Abu Dhabi and the Middle East with the EuroLeague’s traditional pan-European venues. The Final Four will mark Euroleague Basketball’s second experience in the Middle East, following the successful Adidas NextGen Tournament Qualifier hosted in Dubai last season.

Abu Dhabi has been making serious moves in the basketball world. Over the past few years, it has hosted NBA pre-season games, USA Basketball showcase events and a slew of international tournaments.
