Sacramento’s demonstration on Saturday joined some 1,400 “Hands Off!” protests in cities across all 50 states. “Hands Off!” organizers called it the single largest day of collective action since Trump returned to the White House in January.

After a turbulent week that has generated economic anxieties worldwide, thousands of demonstrators have gathered in Center City and elsewhere to protest the Trump administration’s actions on a litany of issues from inflation to the environment, to federal job cuts, to DEI rollbacks.

Demonstrators packed the streets in cities and towns to rail against government cutbacks, financial turmoil and what they viewed as attacks on democracy.

"The fight for democracy is not a left versus right issue," one organizer said. "It's an up versus down issue."

Protests were held in multiple Pittsburgh-area counties as part of the national “Hands Off” movement. According to a release, Hands Off is an all-in movement for the pro-democracy and pro-worker movement.
