NASA’s Suni Williams and Butch Wilmore have returned to Earth from a weeklong mission at the International Space Station that turned into an unexpectedly extended stay.

After their SpaceX capsule splashed down off the Gulf Coast of Florida, astronauts Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore were flown by helicopter to NASA's Johnson Space Center in Houston. There, they will undergo thorough physical evaluations and reunite with their families as part of NASA's standard procedures.

The NASA astronauts splashed down on Tuesday in a SpaceX capsule after problems with a Boeing vehicle set in motion a nine-month stay on the International Space Station.
