A surfer was rushed to the hospital Thursday afternoon after being bitten by a shark off the coast of New Smyrna Beach, an area often dubbed the shark bite capital of the world.

The 18-year-old was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Authorities say he was bitten on the foot. This is the fourth shark bite in New Smyrna Beach this year.
