The Fever are gearing up to face the Sky for the second time this season, but they will be without Caitlin Clark for the fourth consecutive game.
"Head coach Steph White won't be at the Fever's game against the Chicago Sky on Saturday night, a team spokesperson confirmed to IndyStar on Saturday morning," Chloe Peterson reported. "White was not with the team on Friday during practice because of personal reasons, and her status was previously to be determined for Saturday's game."
Indiana is obviously headlined by Caitlin Clark, who was the 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year and earned First-Team All-WNBA honors in just her first season. She set numerous records during her inaugural campaign and is one of the most dangerous players in the league.
However, there wasn't a close competition between which point guard made Indiana look sharper on the court. McDonald, a hardship exemption addition by the Fever after her surprise cut by the Los Angeles Sparks, is a perfect fit in Fever coach Stephanie White's system.
The most anticipated matchup on Saturday’s WNBA slate is set to unfold at the United Center in Chicago, where the Sky will host the Indiana Fever for an 8 p.m. ET tipoff on CBS. Although Fever guard Caitlin Clark has already been ruled out due to injury,
Gov. Mike Braun said the WNBA should investigate a viral Brittney Griner video after investigating false claims made about Indiana Fever fans.
The Indiana Fever have been playing through their first season under head coach Stephanie White, currently sitting at 3-4 on the season. Indiana is No. 3 in the Eastern Conference and No. 7 in the WNBA standings.
