Light snowfall across parts of North Texas is possible early next week. The National Weather Service Fort Worth is tracking a strong cold front that will bring arctic air to the Metroplex this weekend. Daily highs are expected to be in the 30s, followed by lows in the 10s and 20s.

First Alert Weather days are in place from Sunday through Tuesday for dangerously cold wind chills and the low chance of flurries.

Friday will be warm, but frigid temperatures will arrive soon in South Texas. Will the cold weather be accompanied by ice and snow?

About a week after a polar vortex brought snow and freezing temperatures to Texas, another cold snap is expected in time for the MLK holiday weekend.

As North Texas expects below-freezing temperatures starting Saturday, there are questions as to how it will affect a stacked weekend of big events, such as the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo and MLK parades.

Mild weather ends as an arctic front arrives late Friday, bringing cold air and the chance for snow on Tuesday of next week. Temperatures will drop well below normal, and residents should take precautions for freezing temperatures,

Lows Tuesday morning were in the 20s and lows Wednesday are expected to be in the 30s, an improvement but it's still cold. North Texas should see highs rebound into the 60s on Thursday and Friday, but it's short-lived.
