Wisconsin freshman point guard Daniel Freitag joined the list of the Badgers' transfer portal departures on Monday.

A four-star recruit in the 247Sports Composite, Freitag joined Wisconsin as its highest-ranked point guard prospect in program history. As the 11th-ranked point guard and second-ranked prospect in Minnesota, the Minneapolis native came to Madison with lofty expectations.

Wisconsin freshman guard and former four-star recruit Daniel Freitag has entered the NCAA transfer portal. Freitag, a highly touted prospect, saw limited playing time in his first year with the Badgers. This marks the second player departure for Wisconsin this offseason, following reserve guard Camren Hunter.

Greg Gard and his staff added wing John Tonje, guard Camren Hunter and forward Xavier Amos following the 2023-24 campaign. Those additions followed the high-profile departures of Chucky Hepburn and A.J. Storr to Louisville and Kansas, respectively.

The Badgers' season came to an end Saturday against BYU, but standouts John Blackwell and Nolan Winter are already looking ahead to next season.
