After losing his mom last week, Tiger Woods is officially pulling his name out of the upcoming Genesis Open. In a statement posted to his social media accounts, the 15-time major winner shared that he's still struggling with the loss but hopes to return to the course soon.

Woods, the tournament host of the Genesis Invitational, said he hoped to be at Torrey Pines later in the week and “appreciate the continued kindness since my Mom’s passing.”

Tiger Woods has withdrawn from this week’s Genesis Invitational tournament at Torrey Pines, saying he is still processing the recent death of his mother Kultida. Woods had targeted the event, which he was also set to host, to make his return after undergoing back surgery last year. But the 49-year-old has now opted to postpone his comeback.
