OpenAI is integrating new image generation capabilities directly into ChatGPT starting today — this feature is dubbed “Images in ChatGPT.” Users can now use GPT-4o to generate images within ChatGPT itself.

OpenAI said that, beginning Tuesday, this new version of ChatGPT would be available to people using both the free and paid versions of the chatbot. This includes both ChatGPT Plus, a $20-a-month service, and ChatGPT Pro, a $200-a-month service that provides access to all of the company’s latest tools.

OpenAI is introducing image generation directly within ChatGPT. Powered by its flagship multimodal model, GPT-4o, the chatbot can now create visuals straight from the chat interface. The feature will initially be available to ChatGPT Plus, Pro, Team, and free users. Enterprise and Education tier users will get access soon.
