Nintendo needs to bring back these 10 dormant fan-favorite franchises when it launches the Switch 2 later this year.

Nintendo has announced its next batch of SNES games headed to the Switch Online catalogue - and there's a pretty obvious nod to Assassin's Creed Shadows on the list. Four strategy games from Koei all arrive for Switch Online next Friday, 28th March, including two Nobunaga's Ambition titles.

Four SNES strategy games from Koei are coming to Nintendo Switch Online next week. Nobunaga’s Ambition, Nobunaga’s Ambition: Lord of Darkness, Romance of the Three Kingdoms 4: Wall of Fire and Uncharted Water: New Horizons are all coming to the service on March 28.

Of course the Switch wouldn’t be the success it has been without its biggest games. In its first year, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe helped the console find a massive audience.

Now this could mean that GameCube games are going to come to Nintendo Switch Online post-Switch 2 release. But to momentarily play devil’s advocate, that’s not a surefire thing. After all, the original Switch did have an official GameCube controller made for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
