Owners will vote today on a measure that would change the league’s flexible scheduling rules, according to Ben Fischer of Sports Business Journal. If the measure passes, a game could be moved from Sunday to Thursday only 21 days in advance. Currently games must be moved 28 days in advance.

The NFL has had the ability to flex Thursday night games since 2023, and after two seasons, the league is thinking about tweaking the flex scheduling rules for that night of the week.

When the NFL flexes games it can make national matchups more compelling, but it can also impact fans negatively.
