PHILADELPHIA - The final round of the 2025 NCAA Wrestling Championships started off in historic fashion. Penn State’s 184-pounder Carter Starocci kicked off the finals and in the process became the first five-time NCAA Division I wrestling champion in both Penn State’s, and more importantly, the sport’s history.

PHILADELPHIA – Carter Starocci officially became one of one at the NCAA Wrestling Championships on Saturday night at Wells Fargo Center. Starocci defeated Northern Iowa’s previously unbeaten Parker Keckeisen 4-3 in the 184-pound championship final to become the first five-time NCAA champion.
