The forecast for snow and ice from a weekend storm in Massachusetts and the Boston area hasn't changed much in the past 24 hours. This is going to be an extremely messy storm. It is absolutely loaded with moisture by winter storm standards.

Areas across Massachusetts can expect anywhere from 4 to 6 inches of snow accumulation and a light glaze of ice over the weekend. Although, some areas might get as many as 8 inches of snow.

After residents across most of the Bay State wake up to several inches of snow on the ground, meteorologists say the weather is going to take a turn for the worse Sunday as ice accumulates and winds pick up.
