Derrick Hicks was fishing in the Boise River when he spotted some fishing line floating mysteriously in the water.

Research by Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks and Montana State University found that the majority of fish in the Big Hole, Ruby and Beaverhead rivers were healthy. Habitat issues remain.
