Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow isn't thrilled with the protracted standoffs that are keeping defensive ends Trey Hendrickson and Shemar Stewart out of training camp.

Star edge rusher Trey Hendrickson and rookie Shamar Stewart's contract woes have shaken up the Bengals' preseason plans, raising concerns within the team.

The Bengals star led the NFL in sacks in 2024. He wants a contract extension and has previously said he won't play in 2025 under the terms of the last year of his current deal.

The Bengals are in separate contract disputes with a pair of edge rushers: veteran Trey Hendrickson and rookie Shemar Stewart. With neither player on the field — and in Hendrickson’s case, even in town — quarterback Joe Burrow called the simultaneous situations “obviously disappointing” in his Wednesday press conference after the first practice of camp.

Hendrickson wanting his contract structured in a similar manner isn't an unreasonable request. A complicating factor is the Bengals hadn't given traditional salary guarantees to a non-quarterback until Chase.
