The New York Yankees have opened the 2025 season with a stunning homer barrage, which has brought on some controversy in itself. But don't worry about Aaron Judge: He won't be a part of it.

On a chilly afternoon at Yankee Stadium, Paul Goldschmidt led off with a single. After Cody Bellinger flied out, Judge launched a 113 mph rocket, 410 feet out to left to give the Yankees a 2-1 lead against Aaron Civale. And then they began taking the bat out of his hands.

Aaron Judge homered once in his first 13 games before setting an American League record with 62 home runs. Last season, he hit .197 through his first 33 contests before ending with 58 homers and a .322 average.
