DEDHAM, Mass. — A winter storm watch has been issued in Massachusetts ahead of a one-two punch of rain and snow that is expected to make for a messy weekend in Massachusetts before some of the coldest air of the season moves in.

The last time snow graced Houston was on February 15, 2021, when one inch was measured during a significant winter storm that paralyzed much of Texas. The city’s all-time record for snowfall occurred in February 1895, with a staggering 20 inches over two days — 19 inches on February 14 and an additional inch on February 15.

Two different storm systems could bring snow, rain or a wintry mix to South-Central Pennsylvania this weekend.

AUSTIN, Texas - Pedernales Electric Cooperative (PEC) is sharing how they're getting ready for next week's weather. PEC says they practice for severe weather events and are bringing in more personnel next week. The Hill Country could also see below freezing temperatures and precipitation.

We’re watching the development of a significant winter storm that’s likely to affect communities across Atlantic Canada and eastern Quebec through the latter half of this weekend. Several systems will move through the area into early next week, but the most impactful could bring heavy snows and gusty winds to a wide swath of the region.

A batch of showers will track through the region Saturday morning through around noon. This may start as a mix out near I-81. Clouds will break for some sun in the afternoon. Highs will be in the upper 40s and lower 50s.

A winter storm is set to bring at least several inches of snow to the New York City area with some parts of northern New Jersey and Connecticut set up for more than six inches of snow. The snow is expected to start in New York City on Sunday morning.

Officials have not publicly discussed plans to mitigate the potentially treacherous conditions. Three to six inches of snow are predicted as of Friday night.
