As milder weather returns to Kentucky, here's what to know about the official start of spring in 2025. The first day of spring in the Northern Hemisphere is Thursday, March 20, 2025. This is also the date of the vernal equinox.

A sprawling winter storm that is pushing slowly across the United States will bring a risk of severe weather and excessive rainfall to a large part of the south-central United States from Wednesday into Friday. Isolated thunderstorms, flooding rains and damaging winds are all possible in an area between East Texas and western Kentucky.

Those still waiting on vehicle renewal notices in Daviess County are not alone. The county clerk’s office says they are not even sure the notices have been sent out yet, blaming delays on the winter storms.
