When the Cowboys chose to hire Brian Schottenheimer as the team's head coach, it was reported that Moore was very much bothered because he thought he had the inside track here, having served as the top offensive coach up until two years ago, when then-head coach Mike McCarthy bumped him.

The Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator is reportedly the leader in the clubhouse to become the next head coach of the New Orleans Saints, but that doesn't make it the right move.

Adam Schefter reports that former Cowboys HC Mike McCarthy is no longer planning to coach this year and Eagles OC Kellen Moore is now the lead candidate for the HC vacancy in New Orleans.

Word on Sunday was that the Saints would be in Philadelphia as soon as Monday to conduct an in-person head coaching interview with Eagles offensive coordinator Kellen Moore and that's exactly what happened.

The drop-outs left Moore and Dolphins defensive coordinator Anthony Weaver as the Saints' top candidates, and Moore has more coordinator experience despite being so young. He's spent six seasons as an offensive coordinator between three teams, regularly garnering head coaching interest over the years.

Mike McCarthy is no longer planning to coach this year, and Eagles offensive coordinator Kellen Moore has emerged as a lead candidate for the Saints job, the last remaining head coach vacancy in the NFL.
