IMSA stripped Tower Motorsports of its LMP2 class victory at the Rolex 24 at Daytona because of a technical infraction. The victory was given Wednesday to runner-up United Autosports, the team co-owned by McLaren Racing CEO Zak Brown.

Gibson 2025 Daytona 24 Hour LMP2 class winning car, driven by Sebastien Bourdais, Job van Uitert, Sebastian Alvarez, and John Farano, has been unceremoniously stripped of its victory and kicked to the back of the class after a technical infraction uncovered by the series on Wednesday.

Rolex 24 at Daytona International Speedway wrapped up Sunday, and Felipe Nasr and the No. 7 Penske Porsche repeated as champions.

Sebastien Bourdais, who drives for Cadillac Chip Ganassi Racing in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, recently won the LMP2 class at the 2025 Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona.

The No. 24 BMW M Team RLL BMW M Hybrid V8 will start on the pole position for the 24-endurance race that opens the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar championship season. This is BMW’s first pole position in Grand Touring Prototype, which is entering its third season as the premier class in IMSA.

Porsche secured back-to-back wins in the 24 Hours of Daytona with the 963 LMDh, while the Mustang GT3 claimed its maiden GTD victory.

Tower Motorsports has been stripped of its LMP2 class victory in the Rolex 24 at Daytona as a result of a technical infraction. John Farano, Sebastien Bourdais, Sebastian Alvarez and Job van Uitert initially took victory during the 63rd edition of the Florida endurance classic, beating the No. 22 United Autosports Oreca 07 Gibson.

Bourdais’ sights, however, remain set on claiming his third Rolex 24 class victory on Sunday with the John Farano-owned, Ricky Capone-led squad, having taken an overall win with Action Express Racing in 2014 and a GTLM victory with Chip Ganassi Racing in 2017.
