The Los Angeles Lakers and Dallas Mavericks made one of the most shocking trades in NBA history on Saturday, and it didn't involve LeBron James' input.

The Lakers are sending Anthony Davis, Max Christie and a first-round pick to the Dallas Mavericks in exchange for Luka Dončić, Maxi Kleber and Markieff Morris in a three-team deal that also includes the Utah Jazz, according to ESPN's Shams Charania.

LeBron James learned of the Davis-Doncic trade after the Knicks game when it broke while he was out to dinner with his family, sources close to James told ESPN. James was surprised by the news, is processing it and had no idea it was in the works, sources said.
