Hernando's Fran Kelly has been named Gatorade Mississippi girls basketball player of the year for the 2024-25 season.

Watauga High School senior Kate Sears has been named the Gatorade North Carolina Player in the Year for the 2024-2025 girls basketball season. Sears stands at 5-foot-9 and played point guard for Watauga.

A 13-year-old girl appeared in court after she was charged with murdering a woman whose body was found following a house fire. Police said the body was discovered at a property in Wellingborough, in the early hours of Monday morning.
