The heart of the BRZ and GR86 sports cars is at the center of a new lawsuit. Toyota and Subaru have been hit with a class action suit out of New Jersey related to engine failures in the 86 twins.

The Japanese carmaker's four-cylinder boxer engines continue to cause a headache, now leading to a class action lawsuit.

"Upon a complete professional teardown of the engine, it was determined that the engine failure was due to oil starvation, loss of the oil film and excessive wear. At present, Ms. Young’s vehicle is still disabled and Defendants have not replaced her defective engine with a non-defective one."

Following multiple on-track engine failures that went viral, owners are now joining together to get compensation.
