Auburn improved its chances of grabbing a national seed over the weekend with a dominant showing against South Carolina.

The wins improved Auburn to 36-15 overall and 16-11 in Southeastern Conference play, sitting in fourth place tie in the SEC. Holding onto that fourth spot is important entering the final weekend of the regular season, as the top four teams in the conference get a double bye in the SEC tournament.

The Auburn Tigers continue their climb up the USA TODAY Baseball Coaches Poll by moving up two spots from No. 8 to No. 6 in the latest rankings. The Tigers improved to 36-15 on the season after a weekend sweep of the South Carolina Gamecocks.
