KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — A snowstorm made its way through East Tennessee on Friday, leaving plenty of snow across the area that will linger for a few days. Now that the snow has mostly tapered off, we're getting a look at the observed snow totals! Across the viewing area, most saw snow in the range of 2 to 5 inches.

Flurries are forecast to start falling in East Tennessee late Friday morning through the early afternoon, depending on the city. The storm will continue through Friday afternoon and night. Due to the storm, East Tennessee will accumulate between 3-6 inches of fresh snow.
How much snow did East Tennessee get? When will it snow again?
Another 1-2 inches of snow are expected in Northeast Tennessee on Monday, according to the National Weather Service. The next round of snow is set to impact mainly the mountainous areas. A winter weather advisory is in place for Gatlinburg, Mountain City and the areas in between along the Tennessee/North Carolina border.

TEMA said people should expect road conditions to remain bad through the rest of the night. Temperatures are expected to rise above freezing during the day this weekend, but that will create the risk of snow melt refreezing and turning to ice on the roads, particularly roads with a lot of trees and shade, and rural back roads.
